How to Unleash Your Inner Advisor to Get Ahead in YOUR Business

by Linda Dietz on August 29, 2011

HOW CAN I REMEMBER MY DREAMS?

Baggy eyes, low energy, dragging yourself out of bed, zero motivation, increased nervousness, bummed about work/tension, these are all signs of sleep and dream deprevation.

Is your business suffering from your insomnia and dream deprevation

Hello….duh you say?

So HOW does one turn dream deprevation around and get more sleep? So HOW you remember your dreams and take control of your life when sleep eludes you and you have a long stretch of dream drought. Sleep disorders such as insomnia and difficulty with dream recall are prevalent in the business community!   How DO you unleash your inner advisor to get ahead in your Business.  Its a challenge.  However, Breaking a dream dought is easier than you think.

Its really quite straightforward..  Don’t party before you go to bed….

Seriously,  there are 3 main tips for alleviating insomnia and the dream deprivation/dream drought that goes with it.

SOLUTION

Follow the upcoming suggestions.

Sounds like a no-brainer doesn’t it.  Its truly amazing how many people just read suggestions and never follow them.

  • Take time to breathe while you are lying in bed just after you turn out the lights.

I know, I know this sounds too easy.  It’s just that it works!    Now you don’t have to follow ANY of these suggestions, however, if you keep doing what you have always done you will always get what you’ve always got.

Here’s the key.   S…L…O…W, deep breaths!   Did I mention SLOW.  Air in through the nose and out through the mouth.  Insomnia can be tamed this way when you stick with the breathing.

  • Write down or tell yourself the following sentence : ” It is my conscious desire to sleep through the night,  wake up refreshed and remembering my dreams WHEN I wake up in the mornning”.  The “in the morning” is very important .  If you leave it off you just  may find yourself waking up in the middle of the night with your dream which defeats your purpose of alleviating insomia.  The Mayo Clinic even recommends this

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

  • Keep a dream journal by your bed  (Mindworks has an excellent Dream Decoder which includes a Beginner’s Dictionary in the back).

The Dream Decoder/Journal created by myself, Linda Dietz, is a very important little tool as it lets your subconscious mind know you are ready to listen.   Because I have tracked my dreams for years, I have discovered that patterns emerged and I was able to determine which life patterns were beneficial and which ones weren’t.Over time you will also be able to see  life patterns that keep showing up.  Jotting down  some of your daily waking situations  in your Dream Decoder helps you pinpoint the most stressful daily situations that are keeping you up (insomnia)  and depriving you of your precious dreams.  Denise Rogers, a friend and expert Dream Lady also advises this important step.  Nighttime dreams as well as daydreams can be a source of ideas, inspiration and encouragement. There is a lot of myths about dreams and dream work so it’s important to find the sleep (dream) strategies that work best for you. ….. Similarly, if a brainstorm or great idea is keeping you awake, your dream journal helps you keep a record of it.  Who knows maybe your dream can lead YOU to to the kind of success Otto Loewi experienced empowering him to claim the Nobel Medicine Price in 1936 or Paul McCartney who found ”Yesterday” In a Dream

(Additional note:  Personally I found 500 mg of Magnesium just before bed helped me sleep ever so much better.  I have heard this works for many people-my disclaimer is that I am not a doctor, am not perscribing- I am relating what has worked for me and that I have read works for others as well.)

 BONUS TIP

Dreams analysts tend to agree that learning to see value in your dreams and interpret what ever images show up will go a long way toward a good night of solid dreaming and a great sleep which is vital for anyone but especially the entrepreneur. Sleep disorders can make for poor decision making.  Following these tips can help you keep your mental sharpness and clarity.  As a top dream analyst myself , I recommend paying attention to your dreams.
