Naked Dreams are quite common and not at all what you might expect. The truth about being naked in a dream is amazingly simple. There are many websites on dream interpretation and some of them actually have some rather interesting and humorous interpretations on the “nudity” in dreams issue.
Several people have expressed their ideas on this concept. The idea that it has something to do with feeling vunerable, embarassing, liberating DO have some merit however, it is not true that EVERYONE would identify this as such. Consider again, as I have been utilizing the Universal approach which takes both objective and subjective perspective into play, that it is basically quite simple. Know also you Inner Advisor (you) is always truthful.
Clothing in Universal symbology relates to how we physically (in the waking external life) cover and express ourselves. As we decode our dreams we see that mentally and emotionally our thoughts and attitudes are the mechanisms with which we “clothe” our soul or spirit.
The question now to be asked is “so how does that relate to the inner self?” Barbara Condron in her book The Dreamer’s Dictionary states it quite well…
“Being naked in a dream symbolizes an attitude of openess adn honesty. Honesty is the result of the alignment of the thinker’s thoughts and words or actions. ”

A client (male) once related a dream to me that went like this:
“I dreamt I was in the middle of a major transaction that could catapult my business to new heights, I was giving the presentation when I suddenly realized I was totally naked and everyone was appluading. I kept thinking -’naked in IOWA’ how wierd. The dream continued. I was embarassed but they kept applauding“
He was actually going to do a presentation at the end of the week and wondered how the dream could be of value to actually landing the account. He had been a quandry as to how “open” he should be with some of the company information.
I shared that his dream was letting him know that being open and honest in his preentation would be the mindset he wanted to cultivate going into the meeting. Being naked in Iowa says he was comfortable in himself with being honest. (he actually lived in Iowa) All the other people clapping were the other parts of himself that were in alignment with this manner of expression. He had an “inner sense” confirming that HONESTY was the best policy. He was, in essence, applauding himself. This was actually a pat on the back dream. His “embarassment” showed how he tended to react to himself when he opened up and was honest as it can be perceived (common-especially in men) – as being too vunerable.
He took the info we discussed into his meeting and landed his account. He came into the presentation open, genuine and brutally honest about the state of affairs. His clients responded favorably with appreciation for his candor. That client is still with his company
CONCLUSION
Dreams are immensely valuable in the business world as well as our personal lives…..WHEN WE LISTEN AND ACT.
